Please apply to ACS2 between December 8th and February 13th. Scholars will join their mentor’s lab meetings in May and early June to provide an introduction to the project and meet other student researchers in the lab.
The on-site program will begin after the end of the UC Davis quarter June 27th, with research continuing until the research presentation August 21st.
The community programs in the Butte and Glenn County region will occur in the fall.
An application to ACS2 consists of the following.
- Basic information about you
- Your interests in study systems or research questions. Please note that we don’t expect you to come with experience in any of these; we just seek information to help us match you with a research mentor.
- A list of community college courses that you expect to complete by the end of this academic year.
- A statement that describes your academic interests, motivation, goals, and how your life experiences brought you to apply for this program.
We also will ask for contact information for two references from a community college instructors or others who are familiar with your academic or professional work.
